It is with deep sorrow that the FCT Board of Trustees and the SCT Board of Directors convey our deepest condolences for the death of Professor David E. R. Sutherland, one of the world's leading pancreas transplant surgeons, and a gold medalist of our Society.
Professor David E. R. Sutherland revolutionized medicine with his innovative techniques and tireless dedication.
His memory and example will continue to accompany us for a long time. At this time of sorrow, we convey our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.

In Memoriam Prof. Dr. Frans Claas – 5th February 2025
The Board of Trustees of the FCT and the Board of Directors of the SCT wish to express their sincerest condolences for the unexpected loss of Prof. Francis Class. Through his groundbreaking work, he significantly advanced our understanding of organ transplantation, leaving a lasting impact on science.
